Making yet another valuable CSR initiative, an innovative contact tracing app VeeTrace was launched in Salem Municipal Council on 13th April 2020. R. Sadheesh, Corporation Commissioner of Salem, did the honour of launching VeeTrace at an alternative market setup in Salem. Mr. Sadheesh also took this opportunity to explain the significance of this app to the people at pharmacy stores, farmer’s market and dairy market. He also flagged off awareness vehicles carrying the QR code.
The app was developed by The Sona Group subsidiaries, Vee Technologies and Sona College of Technology. IT Team of Vee Technologies along with the students of Sona College of Technology worked together to develop VeeTrace App. VeeTrace app is designed to track COVID-19 infected people and notify the app users when these people are within 10 m, 100 m & 1 km radius.
VeeTrace can be easily downloaded from https://tinyurl.com/veetrace and is highly compatible with any smartphone with an active mobile data pack. The app needs voluntary public registration and accurate status updates. This provides timely information for the health officials and helps them track all the COVID-19 infected people.
This is a simple app and asks only simple basic information like name and contact number of the user who downloads the app. The success of VeeTrace is based on the number of people using it. When more people start using this app, the chances of reducing the community spread will be higher.
